The author states, "She believes that if some parts of the brain are faulty or defective, others are highly developed" (Sacks 16). In this quote, we see how Temple Grandin knows for a fact that despite having autism where she is denied a few things, she still has highly developed parts.
Temple Grandin suspects that the positive aspects of her autism, go with the negative ones.(Sacks 12). In this example we can see that Grandin is aware there are negative things that come with autism but also positive. Such as the fact that she puts everything into visual images where she finds it easier to connect and understand.
-The aspects of Temple Grandin's life or mind these quotes help to explain is the fact that she knows that even though there are things shes deprived from, there are still other things in which us normal people dont have. We dont normally visualize everything to understand something. Visualizing helps Grandin figure out complex questions in which solving it normally would be impossible for her. Temple Grandin knows this is a way in which she can connect with people and animals.These quotes will help prove my thesis by showing that you do not need emotions to connect with humand or animals, you can find another way to connect with them. In Temple's case, she pictures herself as the cattle in order to get a better view and clearer understanding.
